Mention Santa Fe
and people smile and tell you what a wonderful place it is. But often
it is assumed that it's desirability comes with a price. I'm here to
tell you that a full range of prices are available for property here.
It simply is a matter of choosing your neighborhood.
Living within close
proximity to the Plaza will add value and hence, a higher price, for
a piece of property within its vicinity. This is due to the historic
quality of the neighborhoods and also the convenience of enjoying all
the activities during the busy summer months that happen in the Plaza.
If you work or plan on working in this area searching here will reveal
some very interesting properties. Areas that fall within this category
are South Capitol, East Side, North Capitol and the historic Guadalupe
Neighborhood..
Santa Fe was a stop
on the historic Santa Fe Railway line. Recently, a relatively modern
development has occurred near the historic rail station called The Rail
Yard. The development of this area correlates to the opening of the
Rail Runner train system that goes south to Albuquerque, with stops
along the way. Developed as an alternative to driving to Albuquerque
and it's international airport, this commuter train is still developing.
However, once completed, properties that lie along the route of the
train will gain in value. This includes the new commercial and residential
properties making up The Rail Yard.
Further south of
town, you'll find established developments of single family homes, townhouses,
condominiums and apartments in various price points and attracting full
or part time residents of Santa Fe who do not feel it necessary to live
close to the Plaza. Pricing in these areas is more moderate.
Areas
outside of Santa Fe offer anything from exclusive, gated communities,
"off grid" properties, ranches and stunning land, ready to
build your dream home. Really, the sky's the limit here for choice on
property!
